The gods smiled on us last night..

Had my over 30 mens league semi final last night, which we prevailed in OT after blowing a 5 - 2 lead. However the other semi ended in a forfeit, so their we were set to play against a fresh team with 3 or 4 subs, when the gods decided that was not fair and rained lighting down on the field untill they called it off. Mind you this was already at 10 pm at night. So I was SUPER happy not to play the second game.. Which would have certainly resulted in us getting smacked around.

Wanted to watch the Home run derby but never made it there and it reminded of another STUPID thing in sports..

This might be the most ridiculously stupid thing in all of sports..

WHY ON EARTH are the biggest college football and basketball games played on MONDAY night after 9 pm EST.. I am sorry but that's ridiculous. I know there are TV deals that probably required this, PRIMETIME TV slot, but it's just silly and also can exclude a youngsters from being about to watch the games. EVERY other major event final is always on a Sat or Sun. WHY is this the exception???
