I had never heard of Juneteenth until the TV show Black-ish and I personally think that reflects poorly on myself as well as the school system I came through. Every other trivial holiday was celebrated or mentioned, but nothing about such a historical day is extremely sad. So I am glad to see companies, sports teams, and other institutions honoring and celebrating this day.

So please take some time today and spend some time learning about the history of Juneteenth and why it's celebrated!
