I was working to put together a list of shows and stuff to do over this weekend, when I check Twitter and saw the passing of yet another young man.

Demaryius Thomas was an outstanding football player and an even better person off the field, according to all those that knew him. They found him dead in his Georgia home. He would have turned 34 on Christmas Day.

He was 33 years old and died because of a seizure. (This is all from initial news reports.) According to friends, he had been suffering from seizures for about a year now. He passed away in his shower. Do I know for a fact that football lead to death, no. But I can certainly assume the years and years of helmet to helmet hits and the abuse his body probably lead to it. I love the game, but at some point I am just not sure I can keep enjoying it when the long-term effects are so severe for some of these players.
