Does it Hold up?
Better than I thought, the Practical effects are above average, the Troll beast at the end if awful however.
Overall Rating:
A great eighties movie dragged down by the leads acting.
Weird Comedy or Something New:
What's with eighties movies or maybe it's just Lucas movies, but the over extregratted punch sound. It just makes me chuckle.
Man, George Martin just ripped off the whole John Snow and Ygritte story line from Willow, I kept waiting for her to say YOU KNOW NOTHING!
Val's buddy with the dramatic death is how you used to die when playing Cowboys and indians as a kid.
Random Thoughts:
The attack dogs, did they dress up real dogs cause they move really well.. The costumes were probably horrible for the dogs, which is why you don't see that more often and instead get CGI beasts that move terribly.
Running thought process through out - Why did this bomb? Or end up not as successful etc..
Jesus, Val Kilmer's teeth look terrible.
So... is this just Lord of the Rings with a baby instead of a Ring? I mean its a quest with little people to take a precious item somewhere important.
This was the longest ritual ever!!!! It must have taken 14 hours plus in real time.
