Does it Hold up?
Came out in 2006 and Beyonce looks fabulous, but for the most part yes.

It was not a musical I really enjoyed
Weird Comedy or Something New:
After Electro I just can't take Jamie Foxx seriously. He just kinda made me chuckled a few times when he was trying to be sinister.
Random Thoughts:
Wait, what year is this suppose to be at the beginning?
Is this the one they were pissed because Eddie didn't get an Oscar?
Went in cold, so I guess this had to have been based on a Broadway musical?
Beyonce's mom in the movie, said she never thought her daughter had a voice... hahahahahaha
Wouldn't Cleopatra really look more like Beyonce, than Elizabeth Taylor?
Jennifer Hudson is going to CRUSH the Aretha in her new movie, or atleast I hope so..
My First Time:
I really wanted to like this movie, but in the end I felt it just didn't do enough for all the characters involved. I also thought it would be more Motown and less Showtune. But then again I really don't know music, so maybe it was. Just didn't feel like it. All of the songs seems to have the same melody or general feel just with fantastic singing performances, but their was not one real toe tapper. Like "This is Me" from The Greatest Showman.
Again I confess the depth of my music knowledge is not the best.. But just wanted more, I wanted to picked and surrounded but love and power like when you listen to Marvin Gaye or Aretha Franklin. And I just never got that feeling.
